Book Description
Download PDF What If We Don T Die eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. This book deals with the very real possibility of earthly immortality and the human and societal implications of such immortality, including whether it is desirable. It looks at what makes immortality appear so attractive and at the possibility that we would be better served with longer lives and the freedom to terminate our lives at the time when life has given us all the joy, inspiration and personal development it possibly could. What If We Don’t Die? - Presents major moral dilemmas associated with human immortality, something which seems imminent due to rapidly progressing biomedical research. - Touches on big questions: is it acceptable that the immortal generation will be the last? How much life do you want? What is the purpose of life if life never ends? - Will trigger your imagination by putting a new spin on free will, current concepts of time and eternity, the possibility of multiple universes and multiple yous. What If We Don’t Die? draws extensively on philosophical and religious thought on the purpose of life and introduces novel perspectives on existence, personality and immortality based, for instance, on quantum mechanics and multiverse theory.

Download PDF Don T Suck Don T Die eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. “Not only one of the best books of the year, it’s one of the most beautiful rock memoirs ever written . . . Her portrayal of Chesnutt is perfectly done.” —NPR “Friend, asshole, angel, mutant,” singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt “came along and made us gross and broken people seem . . . I dunno, cooler, I guess.” A quadriplegic who could play only simple chords on his guitar, Chesnutt recorded seventeen critically acclaimed albums before his death in 2009, including About to Choke, North Star Deserter, and At the Cut. In 2006, NPR placed him in the top five of the ten best living songwriters, along with Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Paul McCartney, and Bruce Springsteen. Chesnutt’s songs have also been covered by many prominent artists, including Madonna, the Smashing Pumpkins, R.E.M., Sparklehorse, Fugazi, and Neutral Milk Hotel. Kristin Hersh toured with Chesnutt for nearly a decade and they became close friends, bonding over a love of songwriting and mutual struggles with mental health. In Don’t Suck, Don’t Die, she describes many seemingly small moments they shared, their free-ranging conversations, and his tragic death. More memoir than biography, Hersh’s book plumbs the sources of Chesnutt’s pain and creativity more deeply than any conventional account of his life and recordings ever could. Chesnutt was difficult to understand and frequently difficult to be with, but, as Hersh reveals him, he was also wickedly funny and painfully perceptive. This intimate memoir is essential reading for anyone interested in the music or the artist. “The music made by the late Vic Chesnutt was evocative, haunting and often heartbreaking. Kristin Hersh’s book about the singer-songwriter shares all of these qualities.” —Rolling Stone

Download PDF Don T Die With Your Music Still In You eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. In 2001, Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote a book called 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace, based on the most important principles he wanted his children to live by. Serena Dyer, one of those children, has contemplated these ideas throughout her life. "Don’t die with your music still in you" has been the most important principle for Serena: to her, it means that you don’t allow yourself to live any life other than the one you were born to live. In this book, Serena sets out to explain what it was like to grow up with spiritual parents. She touches upon all ten of her dad’s original secrets, imparting her own experiences with them and detailing how they have affected the way she approaches various situations in life. She shares stories, struggles, and triumphs—and Wayne, in turn, contributes his own perspective. This unique father-daughter collaboration will warm the hearts of all parents . . . and inspire anyone who is looking to find the "music" inside themselves.

Download PDF I Don T Want To Die Poor eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. One of NPR’s Best Books of 2020 One of Time’s 100 Must-Read Books of 2020 From the New York Times bestselling author of I Can’t Date Jesus, which Vogue called “a piece of personal and cultural storytelling that is as fun as it is illuminating,” comes a wry and insightful essay collection that explores the financial and emotional cost of chasing your dreams. Ever since Oprah Winfrey told the 2007 graduating class of Howard University, “Don’t be afraid,” Michael Arceneaux has been scared to death. You should never do the opposite of what Oprah instructs you to do, but when you don’t have her pocket change, how can you not be terrified of the consequences of pursuing your dreams? Michael has never shied away from discussing his struggles with debt, but in I Don’t Want to Die Poor, he reveals the extent to which it has an impact on every facet of his life—how he dates; how he seeks medical care (or in some cases, is unable to); how he wrestles with the question of whether or not he should have chosen a more financially secure path; and finally, how he has dealt with his “dream” turning into an ongoing nightmare as he realizes one bad decision could unravel all that he’s earned. You know, actual “economic anxiety.” I Don’t Want to Die Poor is an unforgettable and relatable examination about what it’s like leading a life that often feels out of your control. But in Michael’s voice that’s “as joyful as he is shrewd” (BuzzFeed), these razor-sharp essays will still manage to make you laugh and remind you that you’re not alone in this often intimidating journey.

Download PDF Bad Girls Don T Die eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. A page-turning, spine-chilling young adult murder mystery about surviving the ghosts around us. Alexis thought she led a typically dysfunctional high school existence. Dysfunctional like her parents' marriage. Or her doll-crazy twelve-year-old sister, Kasey. Or even like her own anti-social, anti-cheerleader attitude. When a family fight results in some tearful sisterly bonding, Alexis realizes that her life is creeping from dysfunction into danger. Kasey is acting stranger than ever: her blue eyes go green, sometimes she uses old-fashioned language, and she even loses track of chunks of time, claiming to know nothing about her strange behavior. Their old house is changing, too. Doors open and close by themselves. Water boils on the unlit stove, and an unplugged air conditioner turns the house cold enough to see their breath in. Alexis wants to think that it's all in her head, but soon, what she liked to think of as silly parlor tricks are becoming life-threatening: to her, her family, and to her budding relationship with the class president. Alexis knows she's the only person who can stop Kasey—but what if that green-eyed girl isn't even Kasey anymore?

Book Description
Download PDF Emperors Don T Die In Bed eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. This fresh and engaging book looks at each of the Roman emperors from Julius Caesar in 44BC to Romulus Augustulus in AD 476, illuminating not only the manner of their deaths but what their final days tell us about their lives. We also hear how the most powerful position in the history of the Western world held a permanent appeal, despite its perils, with eager candidates constantly coming forward to seize the throne. Very few of the Roman emperors died a natural death. The insane Caligula was murdered after leaving the theatre; Caracalla while he was relieving himself. Caesar was stabbed twenty three times and Otho was dragged into the Tiber with a flesh-hook. However great an emperor's power, danger was ever present. Emperors Don't Die in Bed provides a clear history of the imperial succession as well as a compelling depiction of the intrigue and drama of Roman imperial politics.

Download PDF Top Five Regrets Of The Dying eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. Revised edition of the best-selling memoir that has been read by over a million people worldwide with translations in 29 languages. After too many years of unfulfilling work, Bronnie Ware began searching for a job with heart. Despite having no formal qualifications or previous experience in the field, she found herself working in palliative care. During the time she spent tending to those who were dying, Bronnie's life was transformed. Later, she wrote an Internet blog post, outlining the most common regrets that the people she had cared for had expressed. The post gained so much momentum that it was viewed by more than three million readers worldwide in its first year. At the request of many, Bronnie subsequently wrote a book, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, to share her story. Bronnie has had a colourful and diverse life. By applying the lessons of those nearing their death to her own life, she developed an understanding that it is possible for everyone, if we make the right choices, to die with peace of mind. In this revised edition of the best-selling memoir that has been read by over a million people worldwide, with translations in 29 languages, Bronnie expresses how significant these regrets are and how we can positively address these issues while we still have the time. The Top Five Regrets of the Dying gives hope for a better world. It is a courageous, life-changing book that will leave you feeling more compassionate and inspired to live the life you are truly here to live.

Book Description
Download PDF Please Don T Die But If You Do What Do I Do Next eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. Have you been named as an executor of a will or just want to know what the process of estate administration from a practical standpoint is all about? Then read on!This book is meant to help those who have been named as an executor, for someone who has asked a loved one in to be in charge of their estate or for one who just generally wants to know what the process of closing an estate is all about. It has some technical elements, like how to sell or transfer stock and - but the real value of the book is setting expectations. It includes advice such as; making the funeral arrangements, dividing up the jewelry and selling the furniture. More importantly, it gives the first time executor enough information so they can be conversant when talking to lawyers, accounts and beneficiaries. That's the main reason this book is different than others - it has more of the practical versus the legalese. It basically helps someone who's never been an executor before or hasn't been exposed to the process and needs a little bit of help to carry out the wishes of a loved one. It's about things like; how long the process will take, fairness with beneficiaries, what curveballs might be thrown your way and what some of the pitfalls that might be encountered. For example, you should be aware that some insurance companies will drop homeowners insurance or not honor the policy if the house is vacant for an extended period of time. Again, that's where the value of this book is, eliminating some of those first time "unknowns" of being the executor of an estate. There is also a short "What should I do if?" chapter to answer questions such as; what if someone else wants to be the executor, if someone sues the estate, if the beneficiaries don't want to sign the refunding bonds, etc...In addition to the practical help, this book can help save you some fees when you administer the estate. You can close bank accounts, close insurance policies, transfer stock, send refunding bond notices, and file the will for probate by yourself. All those things are not hard to do, they're mostly administrative in nature and can be handled by a layperson. The idea is to let the lawyers focus on their areas of expertise while you focus on those administrative items.

Download PDF Scole Experiment eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. REVIEW OF THE SCOLE EXPERIMENT IN 'TIME OUT': Is there life after death? Reading this remarkable book may convince even the most hardened sceptic, with its apparently solid scientific evidence for our continuing survival once we have shuffled off this mortal coil. What distinguishes the experiments chronicled here from other attempts to 'prove' that there is an afterlife are the rigorous protocols under which they were carried out. With chance, coincidence and connivance carefully eliminated, spectacular results were still achieved: handwriting, hieroglyphs and messages appearing on factory-sealed film, coins materialising, and lights dancing in front of impartial observers. Written in a calm, precise and dispassionate style, the book comes in advance of 'The Scole Report', which will shortly be published as an official Proceedings of the Society for Psychical Research - SPR. -- Time Out, October 1999

Download PDF How Not To Die eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. From the physician behind the wildly popular NutritionFacts website, How Not to Die reveals the groundbreaking scientific evidence behind the only diet that can prevent and reverse many of the causes of disease-related death. The vast majority of premature deaths can be prevented through simple changes in diet and lifestyle. In How Not to Die, Dr. Michael Greger, the internationally-renowned nutrition expert, physician, and founder of NutritionFacts.org, examines the fifteen top causes of premature death in America-heart disease, various cancers, diabetes, Parkinson's, high blood pressure, and more-and explains how nutritional and lifestyle interventions can sometimes trump prescription pills and other pharmaceutical and surgical approaches, freeing us to live healthier lives. The simple truth is that most doctors are good at treating acute illnesses but bad at preventing chronic disease. The fifteen leading causes of death claim the lives of 1.6 million Americans annually. This doesn't have to be the case. By following Dr. Greger's advice, all of it backed up by strong scientific evidence, you will learn which foods to eat and which lifestyle changes to make to live longer. History of prostate cancer in your family? Put down that glass of milk and add flaxseed to your diet whenever you can. Have high blood pressure? Hibiscus tea can work better than a leading hypertensive drug-and without the side effects. Fighting off liver disease? Drinking coffee can reduce liver inflammation. Battling breast cancer? Consuming soy is associated with prolonged survival. Worried about heart disease (the number 1 killer in the United States)? Switch to a whole-food, plant-based diet, which has been repeatedly shown not just to prevent the disease but often stop it in its tracks. In addition to showing what to eat to help treat the top fifteen causes of death, How Not to Die includes Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen -a checklist of the twelve foods we should consume every day.Full of practical, actionable advice and surprising, cutting edge nutritional science, these doctor's orders are just what we need to live longer, healthier lives.

Book Description
Download PDF Don T Die eBook. You can read online on your kindle, Android, iPhone, iPad. Let me ask you a couple questions straight from the heart. Are you living your life full on? In the morning when you first realize you are awake, does your heart beat a little faster because you are excited for a new day? For most of my life, I would have answered these questions with, "Not really," and, "No way." But then a couple things happened. First, thanks to a series of heart attacks-yes, you got that right, I said, "Thanks," because I'm grateful for what I learned from them... So thanks to a couple heart attacks, and thanks to the work I've been doing my entire life to understand how I can best achieve the things I want, I am in a different and better place than I have ever been. That's why it was time for me to write this book-to round up what I've learned and to share it with people I know can benefit from it. You're reading these words now and I'll bet that means this book is for you. It's not easy to live a "full-on" life. We have needs, or perceived needs, that seem to push in the direction of the dreary and the mundane. But it doesn't have to be that way. In fact, I believe it's not supposed to be that way! Now I want to tell you something about myself that many authors would consider information it's not best to share. I'm 77 years old. We live in a culture in which once you hit 40 or 50, your relevance starts to fade. It's time for Botox, a face lift, liposuction, a sports car and whatever kind of makeover you can think of and afford. Don't go down that road. I can tell you there is no satisfaction to be had down there. I've chased youth, I've chased money, I've chased romance, and I've won and lost them all. More than once. But I've never achieved satisfaction through any of those things that can in any way compare to the experiences I have gained and the fulfillment I have experienced by pursuing the inner happiness and joy I describe in these pages. I think you have a sense of what I am talking about. I think you are on to it too. And I think this book will take you what I'm guessing is the relatively short distance from where you are to a better place you absolutely want to be. And where you deserve to be too. You're not the first to read these pages. I didn't publish this book until I had run it past people I trust to tell me the truth. It made a difference for them and that's why I believe it will for you too. As a 77 year-old I can say to you with a robust confidence and all the love in my heart (which has escaped the grave and been repaired many times over), "Don't wait!" It doesn't get better. It doesn't get easier. Information, inspiration, a few key changes and some diligent practice are the key to achieving, having and enjoying the things you want in your life. All you will get from reading and working on the exercises at the end of this book, is everything your heart desires. Thank you for taking a part of this amazing journey with me. I appreciate you, I trust you, I believe in the goodness inside you and in the contribution I know you make to our world.
